Event Description

In July 2022, Q Shelter released ‘Go for Gold’ – a social inclusion legacy framework for the 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The report was developed with well-known planners- Urbis, and looks at case studies from previous games and mega events, showcases innovation in the sector. The Go for Gold report maps out 46-recommendations across five key result areas, including: reducing homelessness, increasing affordable housing supply, employment and economic participation, governance, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation linked to Legacy.

This is a 2.5 hours workshop with morning tea on arrival. The workshop will explore the ‘Go for Gold’ report in detail, expand on some of the recommendations and workshop for localised advocacy efforts and implementation, across LGA boundaries and regions. Attendees are encouraged to consider attending other Q Shelter events planned on this day, including the CEO and Leaders Lunch and the Q Shelter, AGM and 35-year celebration.

This event would be suited to CEOs and Leaders from community housing sector (CHPs), specialist homelessness services (SHSs), other community service organisations, government, and non-government bodies, peak and other industry bodies .
