Home Event Trauma Informed Practice Micro Training Sessions – Session 2: Trauma Informed Practice

Event Description

Q Shelter, with Penny Gordon and Associates, is pleased to offer a series of online micro training modules on Trauma Informed Practice.

Trauma Informed Practice acknowledges the impact of trauma in a person’s life and aims to reduce the likelihood of traumatisation through practice. Such practice supports a person to work toward empowerment by focusing on one’s strengths, and promoting choice. Housing and homelessness services are increasingly adapting trauma informed responses that understand the impact of trauma on a person. This contrasts responding to an individual without consideration of this factor as having influenced their aberrant behaviour and wellbeing.

The online training will provide an opportunity to engage with online training videos, with presentations from experts Penny Gordon and Tere Vaka, access to accompanying written resources, and a facilitated discussion tailored to the housing and homelessness sector.
