Job Description

Do you want to see better outcomes for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness?

Then join the Q Shelter team!

Q Shelter is currently recruiting for its Sector Capacity team. We are looking for a Project Support Worker who will be based at our lovely historic building in Spring Hill, on the Brisbane CBD fringe.

The successful candidate will be enthusiastic about understanding the housing and homelessness sector and will want to contribute its work and workforce development. Q Shelter is seeking a team player who is enthusiastic and interested in developing their capabilities to support project and program outcomes.

While Q Shelter is not a front-line service provider, this role contributes to the strength and capacity of support services and housing providers responding directly to homeless people. This is a terrific opportunity to work in a not-for-profit peak body, supporting your team members and staff in other new and exciting state-wide initiatives in their vital work to ensure everyone in Queensland has access to a home.

This is full time (38hrs per week), ongoing position subject to funding.

The role falls within the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award and is graded level 4.1, which equates to a pay rate of $36.23 per hour, or $71,590 per annum (exclusive of superannuation and annual leave loading).

Please note a criminal history check will be undertaken on the preferred candidate.

Staff in these positions will be expected to work within a culturally appropriate framework. People from different backgrounds are encouraged to apply, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from different cultural backgrounds and people with disabilities.
