Q Shelter Office Administrator

Job Description

Do you want to see better outcomes for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness?

Then join the Q Shelter team!

Q Shelter is currently growing its team, to implement a major new initiative across Queensland. As part of this growth, we are looking for an Office Administrator, to be based at our lovely historic building in Spring Hill, on the Brisbane CBD fringe.

We’re looking for a passionate person who is comfortable working on a broad range of tasks from reception and general office administration, through to project managing process improvements related to the administration of Q Shelter.

The role will work closely with one other administrative role, including shared responsibility for reception activities, and will report to the Manager Organisational Support.

While Q Shelter is not a front-line service provider, this role contributes to the strength and capacity of support services and housing providers responding directly to homeless people. This is a terrific opportunity to work in a Not for Profit peak body, supporting front-line service providers and their vital work in ending homelessness.

The role falls within the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award and the successful applicant will be offered a position between level 2.1 ($27.80/hour) and 3.1($30.94/hour), depending on experience.

The role will initially be appointed on a 12 month contract, with potential for extension subject to funding.

Please note a criminal history check will be undertaken on the preferred candidate.

Staff in these positions will be expected to work within a culturally appropriate framework.

How to apply

Please provide a relevant and current CV together with a two-page letter addressing the key selection criteria. Please include two recent referees in your CV. Any applications that don’t address the criteria will not be assessed.
