Homelessness Week is a week close to our hearts here at the Redland Community Centre, the Redland Community Centre runs a homeless program called ‘ Homeless United’ in which we assist people facing homelessness on a daily basis.
For homelessness week 2020 we are running a fundraising and awareness campaign called ‘HU Night Owl’ in which we encourage you to ‘spend a night being homeless’ what does this entail?
On Friday 7 August 2020 we encourage everyone to sleep in their backyard with minimal supplies to experience what it is like for the homeless in Redlands.
This event is free for anyone to participate, for a donation of $50 you can obtain a ‘basic Homeless United Food Pack’ which contains the basic essentials in which we supply rough sleepers.
Everyone participating in this event take photos of your experience and email them to info@redlandcommunitycentre.org to be featured on our Facebook.
This pack includes:
• Tin spaghetti
• Tin Baked Beans
• Noodle Cup
• Single sachet cereal
• Single-use milk
• Tuna
• juice
