Emily has over 20 years’ experience in the community sector, leading teams in employment services for people with disabilities, coordinated care for those with complex health issues, and frontline homelessness specialist supports. She has also been Service Integration Coordinator for the Townsville region while auspiced to the Department of Communities, Housing, and the Digital Economy, has led an NDIS pilot project with Spark Neuroscience, and facilitated Townsville’s first social enterprise, North Queensland Green Solutions.

Emily is passionate about the power of collective impact to improve people’s lives and is committed to encouraging all levels of support services – from Local Council to police, health, State and Federal Government, the community services sector, and private housing providers – to work together to support vulnerable Queenslanders. With safe, secure, and affordable housing a vital base for all aspects of people’s wellbeing, Emily is excited about the strategic opportunity to make a lasting difference in her role as Regional Care Coordination Facilitator with the Service Integration Initiative (SII).

Informed by the Queensland Housing Strategy 2017-2027 and driven by Partnering for Impact and Partnering for Growth, the SII aims to create better outcomes for people who are homeless or at the risk of homelessness. The initiative does this by enhancing existing care coordination mechanisms, identifying and enabling sector capability-building opportunities, and encouraging innovation to transform the housing and homelessness sector. Auspiced by a number of place-based organisations through funding provided by the Department of Communities, Housing, and the Digital Economy, there are Regional Care Coordination Facilitators located at nine locations across the state: Cairns, Townsville, Mackay, Sunshine Coast, Moreton Bay, Brisbane (x2), Redlands, Logan and the Gold Coast.
