Pathways out of Homelessness Grant Program

Abstract

On 23 August 2019, the Brisbane Lord Mayor announced a new grants program.

The Pathways out of Homelessness Grant Program will provide $1 million per annum for three years to enable new, innovative and sustainable solutions to address the growing community issue of homelessness.

Applications will open on Monday 30 September 2019 and close on Monday 9 December 2019. Applicants will be notified of the outcome by the end of February 2020.

Community information sessions – Council is running a number of information sessions to assist with developing your submission and to find out more information about this grant:

  • 10 October 2019 – 3.30pm-6.30pm, West End Croquet Hall, Musgrave Park, South Brisbane
  • 15 October 2019 – 3.30pm-6.30pm, Room 2, Level 1, Maida Lilley Community Centre, 1/5 Green Square Close, Fortitude Valley
  • 17 October 2019 – 9.00am-4.30pm, Seven Hills Centre, 28 Tallowwood Street, Seven Hills
  • 21 October 2019 – 3.30pm-6.30pm, The Hub Neighbourhood Centre, 76 Corsair Avenue, Inala.

Purpose – The Program provides annual or multi-year funding for up to three years to Brisbane-based organisations to provide new and innovative solutions to create collaborative, integrated and sustainable pathways out of homelessness. The Program will also fund enhancements to existing programs that support pathways out of homelessness.

Key areas of need may include:

  • employment and certified training courses
  • delivery of integrated, off-street support services
  • mental health support
  • storage of rough sleeper belongings, including identification documents
  • support for vulnerable people to successfully sustain tenancies.
