Abstract

Staying Connected Flyer

Thank you for supporting the NDIS Housing Options project which aimed to build the capacity of National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants to understand their housing options under the NDIS and build the capacity of housing providers to understand how Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) works and the housing needs and preferences of NDIS participants.

Through this project we have developed state specific resources for Western Australia and Queensland aimed at NDIS participants to identify housing needs and preferences and SDA providers to build a better understanding about SDA. You can view these resources here.

We are also very excited to launch the SDA in thin markets resource which looks at the barriers and impediments to the development of SDA in thin markets in Western Australia and Queensland:

  • For NDIS participants living in rural and remote areas
  • NDIS participants with high and complex needs requiring a Robust SDA design category
  • And the impact of the lack of SDA on other systems

You can now view this resource on the project webpage.

At the Summer Foundation we use a range of tools and resources to ensure NDIS participants with complex support needs can readily access a range of housing options which align with their needs and preferences. As we are wrapping up the NDIS Housing Options project we wanted to connect you with some of the other fantastic work happening across the Summer Foundation that may interest you.
