About the Diploma of Leadership and Management

The BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management is a nationally recognised qualification specifically designed to enhance the capabilities of team leaders, managers, and aspiring leaders who work in Queensland’s housing and homelessness sector.

The Diploma is built specifically for those with experience in the housing and homelessness sector, combining your informed perspective with robust managerial approaches to plan, execute, and evaluate the vital work of your teams.

This course is tailored to equip you with the advanced skills and confidence needed to effectively lead projects, manage teams, and drive strategic initiatives within our unique sector.

Course Delivery

This program is delivered over a structured 12-month period using a blended model, combining engaging virtual workshops with flexible, self-paced learning.

This includes 10 full days of workshops covering all 12 units.

These sessions are complemented by self-directed learning, including readings, practical workplace activities, and real-world projects directly relevant to the housing and homelessness sector. This blended approach fosters a collaborative learning environment, enabling participants to share leadership and management experiences, focusing intensely on how to apply key principles directly within the workplace.

Upon successful completion of all units of competency, participants will be awarded the nationally recognised BSB50420 Diploma of Leadership and Management. Even if the full program isn’t completed, a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment will be issued for any units successfully finished, providing tangible recognition of achieved competencies.

How to Enrol

1. Complete the enrolment form on the BSI Learning Institute website
2. To ensure consistency and assist us in effectively grouping your team members together, please use your work email address to enrol.
3. Once you have submitted the application, please email floyd.stephens@qshelter.asn.au with the subject line “Diploma of Leadership and Management enrolment”, with the following details for your invoice:
   – Your full name
   – Organisation name (if it needs to be included on your invoice)
   – Billing address (either yours or your organisation’s)
   – ABN (yours, if you have one, or your organisation’s).
4. Once you have received your invoice, you will have two (2) days to pay the full course payment into the bank account detailed on the invoice. Please use the invoice number as your reference. Failure to make payment on time may result in you losing your enrolment.

Pricing

Early bird: $2,500 +GST (enrolled and paid by 30 June 2025)
After 1 July 2025: $2,995 +GST

Please note there are no sponsored enrolments or payment plans available. We have been able to negotiate this heavily reduced pricing for the sector, with some training institutions charging two-to-three times as much for this same course.
