Every young person deserves the opportunity to live safely, feel connected, and build a positive future.

Our Mobile Program works alongside young people aged 16–25 who are experiencing homelessness, at risk of homelessness, or facing challenges in maintaining their housing. Through practical support, advocacy and genuine connection, we help young people develop the skills, confidence and resilience to achieve sustainable housing outcomes.

Whether that’s supporting a young person to remain safely at home with family, navigate shared accommodation with roommates, move into their first rental property, or transition beyond homelessness altogether, our focus is on ensuring young people have the tools and support they need to maintain stable housing and thrive.

As a Case Officer in our Mobile Support Program, you will work directly with young people to strengthen their independence, build life skills, and connect them with the services and opportunities that support long-term success.

About the Role

Working in home, community and outreach settings, you will provide strengths-based, trauma-informed support to young people as they work towards their housing and personal goals.

You will develop trusted relationships, provide practical assistance, and empower young people to build sustainable tenancy outcomes while strengthening their connection to education, employment, health and community supports.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain positive, professional relationships with young people through consistent engagement and support.
  • Support young people to access, establish and sustain safe, stable and appropriate housing.
  • Assist young people to maintain tenancies through education, advocacy and practical guidance.
  • Support family reconciliation and relationship-building where safe and appropriate, helping young people remain connected to important support networks.
  • Develop independent living skills including budgeting, meal planning, cooking, personal care, household management and understanding tenancy responsibilities.
  • Assist young people to access education, training, employment and community participation opportunities.
  • Work collaboratively with landlords, real estate agents, support services and community stakeholders to help achieve positive housing outcomes.
  • Undertake outreach and home visits to provide tailored support and monitor progress towards goals.
  • Maintain accurate records, case notes and reporting requirements in line with organisational policies and funding requirements.
  • Contribute to a culture of collaboration, accountability and continuous improvement.

About You

You are passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers and achieve sustainable housing outcomes. You understand the importance of building trust, promoting independence and working alongside young people to achieve their goals.

You will bring:

  • Certificate IV in Community Services, Child, Youth and Family Intervention, Mental Health or a related discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Experience working with young people, particularly those experiencing homelessness, housing insecurity or complex life circumstances.
  • Understanding of trauma-informed, strengths-based and person-centred practice.
  • Knowledge of tenancy sustainment, housing pathways and community support networks.
  • Strong communication, engagement and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing positively to a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Current Driver Licence.
  • The ability to meet required screening and probity checks.

Why Join Us?

This is an opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people at a critical stage of their journey.

Every day, you’ll support young people to:

  • Stay connected to family, culture and community.
  • Develop the skills needed to live independently.
  • Establish and maintain safe, secure housing.
  • Engage in education, training and employment.
  • Move beyond homelessness and create lasting stability for their future.

Through your work, you’ll help young people build confidence, strengthen resilience and achieve housing outcomes that create the foundation for a brighter future.

We recognise the strength, knowledge and contribution of First Nations peoples and strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants to join our team.

Apply now and help create brighter futures for young people.
