Manager – Accommodation and Support Services

Job Description

About the role

As part of the Management Team this position works closely with the Executive and other Managers to deliver high quality integrated services to adults who are homeless and or at risk of homelessness. You will lead the Temporary Accommodation Services team and oversight 24/7 crisis and transitional accommodation sites; ensure practical support and case management responses are culturally safe and enable people to build skills, connections and capacity to navigate challenges, explore housing and job pathways and access longer term supports and services.

You will embrace quality and service development initiatives; meet administrative and reporting deadlines; identity, mitigate and manage client, staff, financial and stakeholder related risks and contribute to advocacy, networking, partnerships and program development opportunities. Priorities will be guided by a Workplan periodically updated to meet organisational needs.

To be successful you will need

  • Tertiary qualifications in Community / Human Services related discipline and eligibility for professional membership
  • Substantive direct service delivery (operational) experience undertaking casework / case management / case coordination with clients experiencing a crisis, impacts of serious adverse child hood experience/s or a complex period of vulnerability
  • Prior experience in service management, staff supervision, program development and quality assurance activities.
  • Demonstrated areas of expertise, specialist skills and advanced casework practice knowledge
  • Proven aptitude for administrative, data and reporting tasks and interest in service impact and improvement
  • Track record of strong Teamwork, collaborative practice and project management
  • Experience working with First Nations people, families, Organisations and communities and commitment to reconciliation and closing the gap objectives.

Compliance

  • Evidence of relevant Tertiary Qualifications (Community / Human Services) required
  • Satisfactory outcome of a current (less than 3 months old) National Criminal History Check
  • Blue Card (QLD working with children card)
  • Current QLD drivers’ licence ‘Class C’ or interstate equivalent
  • Ability (and willingness) to participate in a rostered (shared) 24/7 On Call system
  • Out of hours work may be required from time to time
  • May be required to transport clients and or to visit clients in their place of residence or within another setting
  • Ability to undertake local / regional travel with periodic intrastate (and possibly interstate) travel is required
  • Must hold and maintain current First Aid certificate and CPR certificate
