Across Southeast Queensland, The Salvation Army is privileged to walk alongside women experiencing homelessness, supporting them with what matters to them.
Women of all ages can experience homelessness due to circumstances such as family violence, relationship breakdown, housing insecurity, financial hardship, and other life challenges. While homelessness may be their current situation, it does not define who they are. Through the support of services such as our Brisbane City Women’s Homelessness Service, women can access the care, accommodation, support, and opportunities they need to rebuild their lives.
The Sleepout event is about more than fundraising. It is an opportunity for us, to stand visibly alongside those we serve, advocate for greater community awareness, and promote solutions that help prevent and end homelessness. We will also hear directly from the voices of those with lived experience of women’s homelessness, and sector professionals giving us a chance to better understand their story and how we can do better.
Help raise awareness of homelessness and the support available through The Salvation Army.
Whether you stay for the entire night or simply attend the evening program, we would love for you to be involved!
