The Department of Housing and Public Works has a Person-Centred Emergency Preparedness (P-CEP) Homelessness Outreach toolkit and educational resources for the emergency sector and other service providers that assist people experiencing homelessness. This is in recognition that people experiencing homelessness are more exposed to the risks from disaster events such as floods, cyclones and bushfires.
This toolkit has been created through a partnership with Community Recovery, the University of Sydney, Queenslanders with Disability Network and Community Services Industry Alliance and The University of Sydney.
The Homelessness and Inclusive Disaster Risk Reduction (HIDRR) project is jointly funded by the Department of Treaty, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Partnerships, Communities and the Arts (formerly DCHDE) and the Queensland Resilience and Risk Reduction Fund.
