Better Together Housing

Abstract

We are a shared housing community. Facilitating shared living to create a safe and affordable lifestyle for women who have retired from work, but not from living. Better Together Housing is a program designed to assist women find independent shared accommodation on the Sunshine Coast. We are different to regular flatmate finders. We are tailored to helping senior women find suitable accommodation in a safe and secure way. We have been design by women over 50 to meet the needs of independent women like ourselves. Participants can be women who own or rent their home but are interested in finding a like mind person to share with, or women who are looking for a new place to live with one (or more) other woman. Our participants need to be open to negotiate how their home can be shared, but we have resources to support participants with this task.
