Position: Case Worker
Classification: SCHADS Level 4
Location: Rockhampton
Status: Permanent Part Time (22.8 hours per week)

Using a trauma informed, client centred approach, you’ll walk alongside people as they rebuild confidence, enhance wellbeing, and strengthen their sense of belonging. If you’re passionate about social justice and supporting meaningful, self-directed change, this role is for you.
About the Role
Reporting to the Doorways Regional Manager, you’ll support community members seeking material aid or more specialised case work support. You’ll work collaboratively with people to explore the deeper issues contributing to their situation, helping them build capacity, resilience, and self directed change.
The primary aim of this role is to empower clients-working alongside them in a strengths based, collaborative way so they can identify their own goals and take meaningful steps forward.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Provide compassionate, person centred support to individuals seeking material assistance or ongoing case management
- Develop strengths based case plans and help clients set and achieve meaningful, self directed goals
- Address the root causes of financial stress using trauma informed, practical, and empowering approaches
- Collaborate with Corps Officers, volunteers, and local partners to deliver integrated, community connected support
- Link clients with services, resources, and networks that build long term stability and independence
- Support social connectedness by working with informal supports such as family, friends, and community networks
- Advocate for clients and help them navigate referral pathways and service systems
What You Will Bring
- Diploma in Community Services (or similar), or equivalent experience
- Experience supporting vulnerable people facing challenges such as financial hardship, housing instability, mental health concerns, or substance use
- Demonstrated experience in strengths based, person centred casework
- Ability to build respectful, collaborative relationships and support clients toward self directed change
- Understanding of holistic intake and assessment within a non therapeutic casework framework
- A valid QLD Blue Card (WWCC)
- A valid driver’s licence and access to a comprehensively insured vehicle (mileage reimbursed)
