Job Description

About the Role

As a Crisis Support Worker, you will provide end-to-end support across the client journey-from intake through to exit. You’ll work closely with clients to stabilise their immediate situation while supporting longer-term pathways into safe, secure housing.

This role combines frontline support, case management, and advocacy, with a strong focus on building trust and supporting clients with complex needs including mental health challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide holistic, client-centred support from intake through to exit
  • Deliver case management focused on housing outcomes and independence
  • Conduct needs and risk assessments, including safety planning
  • Support clients to access stable accommodation and relevant services
  • Advocate on behalf of clients with housing providers and external services
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders and referral networks
  • Maintain accurate and timely case notes and documentation
  • Assist with day-to-day operations of the accommodation service as required

What You’ll Bring

Essential

  • Minimum Certificate III in Community Services or related field
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including homelessness or mental health
  • Strong case management and advocacy skills
  • Ability to engage clients with empathy, respect and professionalism
  • Resilience and confidence working in crisis or complex environments
  • Availability for shift work (including sleepovers and weekends)

Desirable

  • Experience in crisis accommodation or residential programs
  • Understanding of trauma-informed and strengths-based practice
  • Knowledge of local housing and support service systems
