This study investigates patterns in services use among employed homeless people.
It draws on administrative data for the St. Vincent de Paul Society Queensland, for the years 2013 to 2023, and utilizes the Journeys Home survey, an approximately six-month, Australia-wide panel survey, of people in receipt of income support and vulnerable to, at risk of, or experiencing homelessness.
Being employed and a service recipient, while observed, is not commonplace; where it does occur, it tends to be part-time rather than full-time employment.
The characteristics of the employed and homeless, gleaned from the Journeys Home survey, paint a complex picture.
