The Role

Are you passionate about making a real difference in the community? As we continue to grow our reach we are looking for a new superstar to help us to continue growing our impact. This role sits within our dynamic Operations team, where you’ll play a key part in ensuring our services run smoothly, our volunteer teams are thriving, and more people in need receive our support. We are open to candidates from NSW or VIC.

As a Regional Coordinator, you’ll be the go-to person for volunteer leaders, service partners, and stakeholders, working behind the scenes to keep our mobile laundry and shower services running like clockwork. You’ll be building relationships, driving new initiatives, and helping us create even more positive connections in the community.

In particular you will be responsible for:

  • Cultivate relationships and manage volunteer leadership teams as the primary point of contact for your designated area
  • Maintaining the quality and consistency of service, safety, and culture throughout the services in your designated region, which includes incident and risk management
  • Management & roll out of new shifts and services
  • Monitor volunteer satisfaction and develop programs to ensure a great experience
  • Relationship management with service providers, partner organisations, local councils, government, funders and other stakeholders as necessary to continue to promote and grow the work of Orange Sky in your region
  • Identifying opportunities and gaps in service delivery and applying your subject matter expertise to addressing these

The ideal applicant will have experience in a similar role within a fast-paced environment, ideally within the not for profit sector and working with a large volunteer base. Moderate local regions and interstate travel will be required (average monthly 3-4 nights away). This is to undertake service visits, engage and celebrate, review potential new locations and to meet with current and potential new partners and service providers.

Additionally, they will ideally have;

  • Demonstrated experience running volunteer programs and / or leading teams
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications, or equivalent experience in community services or customer services
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate with a highly diverse range of people and manage a large and diverse workforce
  • Well-developed written skills, problem-solving ability and agility to learn and use new systems
  • Ability to travel and work flexibly as required
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to manage complex and competing demands and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work both independently, and within a team
  • Proactive attitude, and a genuine passion for our cause
  • You will require a drivers license, you will to be able to travel to shift locations and drive our van; we have policies to be able to support travel arrangements
  • Willingness to learn new processes and systems
