Job Description

Support Worker – Still Waters (Ashmore)
Status: Full Time

About the Role
As a Support Worker, you’ll play a vital frontline role in assisting individuals who present for help. You’ll provide brief intervention, practical support, and guidance across both community‑based and residential settings, helping people stabilise, connect with services, and move toward improved wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support, guidance, and assistance to community members, emergency service providers, and visitors in line with site procedures.
  • Deliver brief interventions including initial assessments, screening, information sharing, and referrals.
  • Work with senior staff to take appropriate preventative action in potential high‑risk situations.
  • Share information that assists in assessing and addressing client needs, issues, and circumstances.
  • Build effective, empowering relationships that encourage self‑determination and participation.
  • Collaborate closely with case workers to ensure timely, person‑centred support.
  • Identify and address workplace hazards in line with TSA procedures.
  • Report incidents accurately and promptly according to TSA and funding body requirements.
  • Maintain accurate, up‑to‑date records and data using TSA and government information systems.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Tertiary qualification in Community Services, Social Work, or a related field (minimum Diploma level).
  • Experience in a social services environment (e.g., homelessness) is desirable.
  • Current Driver’s Licence.
  • First Aid Certificate and CPR.
  • QLD Working with Children Check (mandatory).
