Your role within Social and Affordable Housing Growth will work across government, the private sector and the community to provide well-designed, healthy and sustainable environments in the housing, health, education, transport, the arts and planning sectors. Capital Strategy and Oversight is responsible for providing expert advice to deliver key outcomes as outlined in the current and prior housing strategies and action plans. The team reports to the Deputy Director-General to support a holistic and coordinated social and affordable capital delivery program, including driving delivery against the target of 53,500 social and community homes by 2044. The team also lead the Department’s engagement with local governments across Queensland to support housing outcomes.

The Senior Program Officer is responsible for the overall coordination and reporting on the status and performance of the social and affordable housing capital delivery programs, to support the successful delivery of overall social and affordable housing supply.

What you will be doing:

  • Developing, implementing and maintaining an appropriate reporting database and regime (including through tools such as Power BI) to enable project and program planning and monitoring of target outputs, including the anticipation and informing of future reporting needs.
  • Preparing timely and well researched briefings, reports, budgets, submissions, ministerial and departmental correspondence on major operational issues and progress towards targets.
  • Recording, monitoring and maintaining project and program data and records from a range of programs and teams using tools, such as Microsoft Excel and Power BI, and develop protocols and processes for recording, reporting and managing data.
  • Producing a range of standard and bespoke program performance information and reports.
  • Regularly reviewing current and future milestones, liaising across Social and Affordable Housing Growth, the wider department and other agencies, including First Nations Housing and Homelessness and Economic Development Queensland to ensure discrepancies are corrected where appropriate.
  • Managing responses to information requests to a range of stakeholders (including ministerial and other areas of the department) often within short timeframes.
  • Developing and forecasting project and program targets and monitoring against actuals to ensure program and project targets are achieved.
  • Monitoring trends, outcomes and opportunities to ensure the successful delivery of the social and affordable capital delivery program.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail by ensuring accuracy, consistency and quality in all tasks, including data analysis, reporting and documentation.
  • Establishing productive working relationships with various business partners and stakeholders to source diverse information required to provide accurate and timely advice and reports.
  • Supporting and helping maintain a workplace safety culture by ensuring that all policies and practices concerning Workplace Health and Safety are applied and a part of day-to-day operations.
